c++ on solaris

807575Dec 16 2002 — edited Dec 27 2002
Hello ,

I have a sunblade150 with solaris9 and have installed the c/c++ compiler suite from cd.

I have two problems ,

1. when trying to use the compiler (even with only help options) I get the following message :

Optional languages pack not installed.

I have setup the path correctly to the bin directory of the compiler

2. Having used MS VC++ to build gui apps , I would like to learn how to build such apps for the Solaris platform .

Is Motift the windowing toolkit ?

What typical IDE's are available for this development.

What industry standard C++ class libraries exist that are generally used for Unix dev apart from the standard c/c++ libraries?

The type of apps in which I am interestested are general GUI , graphics , server side internet .

Thanks

Andrew.
