Bypass Upgrade Assistant thru Schema export/import ?

Scenario:

Customer is on ODI 12.2.1.2.6 on-prem and we are planning to board them to ODI on OCI Cloud(12.2.1.4).

Option 1: Install ODI 12.2.1.4 on-prem, Invoke Upgrade Assistant and move to ODI 12.2.1.4. Export/Import on-prem schema to ODI 12.2.1.4 on Cloud Marketplace,

Option 2: Use the Existing ODI 12.2.1.4 on Cloud Marketplace. Just export and import their ODI 12.2.1.2.6 schema ? Will this Work ? If not, why ?

Please comment any other options/suggestions as well.
