Business Rule Error - Please help!
KrrishJul 26 2012 — edited Jul 29 2012Hello,
I am having facing an issue with our Business Rules. I have two Business Rules that we have set up to run on Save of the dataform one after the other. These business rules have run-time prompts. Not always, but sometimes we get this error when I hit save on the dataform.
Error – An error occurred while attempting to run the following business rule on save XYZ for ABC data from. Check the logs for details.
So, in order to get more information about this error I went to the Job Console and clicked on the error and this was the message in there –
Cannot calculate. Essbase Error (1200323): Error parsing formula for [FIX STATEMENT] (line 4): expression expected after [,]
I tried to find the cause of this and one the things I came across was this “Known Issue” with Business Rules in “Read Me” documentation. Ours is 11.1.2.0 version.

When multiple business rules with one or more runtime prompts are assigned to a data form with Run on Save checked, an error may occur when the business rules are launched. To avoid this problem, do not assign multiple rules with runtime prompts to data forms with Run on Save selected.
In order to avoid this, I combined the two Business Rules into one and still had it set up to run on Save. Unfortunately now again we encountered the same error.
Can anyone please help me to resolve this issue?
1) What are the possible causes of this error?
2) What is the solution?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
- Krrish
