Business Object Number field minimum value constraint not working

Hi,

I have set the minimum value for a Business object Number id field , but whenever I insert the data into the Business object via OIC ( without passing any data for id field) , it adds value incementally from the last value ( so does not honour the minimum value constraint). Is this a known issue?
