Builder menu entry missing after installation

KRodlerOct 16 2010
Installing Forms 11g on two machines with (nearly) no problems, I got them on the next two machines ...

all machines are windows xp prof
Installed:
. bea 1032 (ok)
. forms 11.1.1.2 (install+configure) (ok)
. upgrade bea to 1033 (ok)
. upgrade forms to 11.1.1.3

At the last steps there were 2 or 3 messages "cannot copy file .. used by another process" (sorry I did not noe the filenames, I just rememeber that the were in the jdk-directory of the newly installed oralce-home and had jar and dll extensions).

I cancelled one of the installations rebooted the machine, checked processes and services but the errors popped up again. So I skipped them, retry had no effect.

At the end I have to recognize that I have no menu entries fpr the builders. Double-Clicking the frmbuild.exe in the bin-directory interrupts loading of the forms builder becouse of the missing forms_class-path in the registry. After adding the entry forms buider comes up and works.

Nevertheless, there are further registry entries missing these can be also added manually. But, what else is missing? What caused this effect? The error messages? Where do they come from? Whoelse should use just installed files as the installation itself?

There is another differ ence between the first and the seconde two installations. The first two were of the naiv kind: download and start installation. So I installed OHS and WebCache. Having then problems with the parallel 10g installtion I read the installation instruction carefullier, so I did the next two without them.

Somebody there with the same experiences?
Somebody experiences in going on, when there are no menue entries?
