Buggette: Changing the separator character in the Design Rule->Naming Standards

FlyingDutchmanOct 28 2025

SDDM 24.3.1 just "bings" at me if I use the mouse to to click on the separator character box, and the type the character I wish to use. To change the character I have to use the TAB key to move the cursor from the “Separator” type box to the "character to use box".

  1. Main menu→Tools→Design Level Settings

  2. Expand “Settings” in left hand pane

  3. Click on “Naming Standard”

  4. Click on the box to the right of “Separator”, in the “Logical” container box. A list of three separator types in a drop down box is displayed, namely “Space”, “TitleCase”, and “Character”.

  5. Select “Character”

  6. USING THE MOUSE, click on the box to the right of where you selected “character”.

  7. Type a key for the separator character such as the hyphen key “-”.

Response is the system just pings at you.

  8. Click the box where the choice of separator type is displayed, and then press TAB to move the cursor to where you can type in the actual separator character.

  9. Type the hyphen key.

Response: The character is accepted.

Typo error: when saving and exiting the Design Level Settings the informational message “Design level settins applied” is displayed. The word settings is mis-spelled (missing the “g”).

Regards
