Brand new Oracle VM Server, can't ping gateway

I'm brand new to VM server.
Installed it on a new machine, and then after I log in, I can't ping the gateway. VM agent services and all else start up fine though.

I even stopped iptables, but still can't ping the default gateway from console login. Shouldn't I be able to do this?

On this same machine Ora Enterprise Linux installs and the network works fine, so the NIC card is good.

Of course on my VM Manager it complains that it can't connect to the VM agent on the Server, but I'm assuming that's because Server's networking isn't working correctly since it can't even ping the gateway.

I verified the network settings and everything is correct; even re-installed a few times.

I have no idea what to do next.

Any ideas ?
