SUN Blade 100 (UltraSPARC-IIe)
Memory size: 768MB
Solaris 10 6/06
Latest OPB 4.17.1 2005/04/11

Hi, I have a quick question, does anybody have actually changed the IDE drives for scsi drives and be able to boot from it?

I tried 2 different SCSI cards, having hard drives attached to it works fine as secondary drives, no problem there at all, but I cant boot from them using any of the cards; I can even install Solaris all the way on the scsi drive just fine but it does not bood after the final installation, I tried any combination I can think of, changing scsi ID #s, making changes on the OPB, etc; OBP has no problem seeing the drives or the cards, do you have a specific card that would allow me to move them to scsi?

These 2 cards are OK with SUN, it on their HW list

These cards are:
Symbios Logic SYM22801 PCI Card Chip Symbios 53c875/6 sun part# 595-4976 -02
AdaptecSCSI card 29160N

Does anyone have done this successfully?
Thanks!
