Hi Team,
recently we found that we were not getting any response from ping for 3 servers. Network team investigated and found the following:
"All VMs below have only one NIC configured at VMware level but found that 2 nics inside the OS with bonding were setup which is unnecessary thereby causing network issue. Bonding and eth1 will need to be removed and only eth0 will be configured for network connectivity. Pls ensure that in future no unnecessary nics and bonding are setup for VMs having only 1 ethernet card."
Is the NIC physical or virtual?
How do we configure 2 nics inside the OS with bonding? What is the role of bonding?
Why does it cause an issue when 2 nics inside OS with bonding is configured though only 1 NIC is configured at OS level?
