blevels in oracle index

Hello,

I was searching the doucment for the question When do we rebuild the index in oracle?

I found the answer that we can rebuild when blevel becomes 4.

I am not so clear what is blevel? Can any one please explain with simple example?

any help is highly appreciated!!
