Bitmap Join indexes and OUTER JOINs

Hello guys,

I've recently came across Bitmap Join Indexes and I have a question. Imagine the following scenario; I have a master table with around 10 milion records and 8 child tables with million records (> 50 milion). I was wondering I bitmap join indexes can help in this case to have faster queries. But the thing is that not all the records in the master tables have records in the child tables.

So, basically my question can be quicly summarised as are bitmap join indexes usefull when doing an OUTER JOIN?
