Bind install problem

Hi All,
I am currently trying to learn how to use solaris 8 and having problems bind. I have downloaded bind 9 and when i hit ./configure it states this

# ./configure
loading cache ./config.cache
checking host system type... i386-pc-solaris2.8
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... ./configure: make: not found
no
checking for ranlib... :
checking for a BSD compatible install... ./install-sh -c
checking for ar... no
configure: error:
ar program not found. Please fix your PATH to include the directory in
which ar resides, or set AR in the environment with the full path to ar.

I am not very technical to solaris as i am new, but i need someone to show me step by step on this please?
