BINARY and VARBINARY Datatypes

I am trying to create a table with datatypes Binary and VARBINARY this is what I have for DDL.

CREATE TABLE bvar (COL1 BINARY(10), COL2 VARBINARY(10));

I get an error ORA-00907: missing right parenthesis. I cant figure out why I am getting that error.

Please help. The database is 11g
