BI Publisher xls format limitation (65k rows maximum)

Hi there,

This request is about BI Publisher Report Template.

BI Publisher report template (speaking only about excel template) - Only .XLS format is supported? because .XLS row count limit is 65,536 but we have a need to extract more than this limit. Is it possible to .XLSX report template in BI Publisher?

Also - I tested .XLSX format in different version v6.1.1.5.0 & v6.2.2.0 - It's not working - please check the attached snapshot.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Quick response/suggestion would be much helpful for me to conclude one of business requirement.
