Best way to get EBITDA, Calculated or Hierarchy?

928274Apr 3 2012 — edited Apr 9 2012
I have a customer that has a multi-level natural account hierarchy that groups base accounts and takes them all the way to Net Income. However, they would like an account called EBITDA to be able to reference using smartview rules.

What do you recommend is the best way to accomplish this? I was looking to use the natural account hierarchy, but with all of their groups the way they want them already, I'd need to be able to have some sort of alternate account hierarchy (similar to an alternate entity hierarchy), but I'm not sure if this is possible.

I could use a calculated account, but it would be nice to be able to get EBITDA without having to run a consolidation every time a number changes for base companies, but this may be the most straightforward way to do it.

Any advice is appreciated!
