best way to exp-imp tables in oracle

user8983130Oct 26 2014 — edited Nov 5 2014

Dear,

I am familiar with normal exp-imp features and use of it.

To night , there is going to huge update in a table of my critical database. My management told me to take backup if the table. If any thing goes wrong after updating , he wants me to drop the existing table and import the table from backup. It sounds very simple the way he told and other member move their head. But being a dba , i know this is not as easy looks like. There is different type of dependent objects for instance constaints(Foreign key), Indexes, etc, etc. And some are global and local also.

Can any one suggest what is the safest way to do so??
