Best way to do consecutive RMAN recover

3407237Oct 20 2017 — edited Oct 23 2017

Hi DB Gurus

I was requested to restore a database to a new environment to several past days.

The user wants to recover to a particular date, access the information and after finish ask for another day and so.

Each time I have removed everything and start from cero, for example what I did:

1. controlfile + restore full + recover to 05/09/2017 00:00

2. opened database and let the user to use it.

3. days later users finish their research and ask for next date.

4. I cleanup everything (asm data/archives/control) and do a complete recover now to 07/09/2017 00:00

so on.

My question is if there is a better way to deal with this? Can I only set until next date and recover to that day even if we already opened the database?

Thanks for your suggestions

Regards

JRAL
