Best configuration of lun sizes for performance on DB

Hi,

im currently facing problems on my environment, were the we are having a lot of disk IO on the database volumes, the volume are manage with oracle ASM and it is on RAC configuration. Basicaly i have a big 2tb lun for the database, im using a Hitachi VSP as storage.

My quastion is, is it better to create small luns and then let ASM group then together os create a big lun, in terms of performance?
