Best Approach for EBS upgrade

What would be the best approach

We have to upgarde the existing Oracle EBS 12.2.4 to Oracle EBS R12.2.6 also the current EBS database version is (11.2.0.4)

We would like to upgrade the existing database from 11.2.0.4 to R12.1.0.2.0 .

1. should we first upgrade the EBS R12.2.4 to R12.2.6 ?

2. should we first upgrade database 11.2.0.4 to R12.1.0.2.0 and then once validated then upgrade the EBS apps R12.2.4 to R12.2.6?
