Basics of upgrading to 10.4.0.2 from 10.4.0.1

scaheldJan 15 2013 — edited Jan 25 2013
Please comment on my understanding of the steps to upgrade to the latest OSB - it's my first time.

Current install on Linux: > uname -a
Linux pronghorn.corp.acxiom.net 2.6.18-308.8.2.el5 #1 SMP Tue May 29 11:54:17 EDT 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

All my hosts are ver 10.4.0.1; I do not need to upgrade these immediately, but will do so over time. Do these need to be shut down & restarted?

Back up OSB catalog.

Stop all daemons & services on admin server; kill any ob processes.

Install ver 10.4.0.2 & answer 'Yes' to "Oracle Secure Backup is already installed on this machine (myhostname).
Would you like to re-install it preserving current configuration data[no]?"

Reboot server following successful install.

That's it?
