Bad Magic Number ---- Please Please Help

Hi,

I just got hold of a Ultra 10 machine . When trying to boot it it gives me the following error

warning: bad magic number in disk label
cant open disk label package......

Network link setup failed
Please check cable and try again.

I then did a STOP + A

and gave the following command\

#boot cdrom

Actually it went through the installation process instead of booting and finally gave me the error

warning
/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/dad@0,0(dad0)
corrupt label
-wrong magic number

Please suggest ways on how to boot/install Solaris 8 on this machine.

Actually i am not even sure whether it has any O/s installed or not. I am a total newbee to Solaris and this is my first exposure to it.
