backup the Flash Recovery Area to tape

534462Sep 19 2006 — edited Sep 21 2006
I want to backup the Flash Recovery Area to tape, to make the command "backup recovery area" to work we need some configurations I am not aware of how can I do that, I am at present using Oracle 10gR2, in Flash Recovery Area configured on a Disc (DAS). I want to backup the flash recovery area on tape in order to secure it further and make room for more backups, once all backups copied on tape could then be safily deleted if required. The problem is how to configure the tape backup channel. The details of tape drive attached to the backup server in the same network:
Hardware specification for backup server
HP ProLiant DL380 G4
Backup tape loader: HP Storage Works MSL 2024 Ultirium 448
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storageworks/msl2024/specs.html

I belive we need to use some MML software to acheive this, we have Veritas Backup exec10d but it cannot be interfaced with RMAN FRA, Unfortunately OSB doesnt support HP MSL 2024. Please suggest what can we do.
