backup optimization and archivelog deletion policy

Hello,

I have set up RMAN parameter

CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO BACKED UP 2 TIMES TO DISK;

I would like to enable backup optimization to exclude datafiles that never change but then this will affect the archivelog rotation because once the archivelog is backupped it will not be backupped again as archivelogs do not change.

is there something I am missing here?
