backup and restore using the oracle batch files

Hi,
.
I want to do something quite simple but cannot find any easy description in the help files:

Backup my oracle 10g database using the batch file given and then if my pc breaks be able to install oracle 10g on another machine and
simple run the restore batch file to get my database up and running. n.b. only require a snapshot not bothered about restoring logs.

Specifically I am asking what files to I need to copy to a portable storage device after running backup and where are those files located on my pc.

Then in the case of the restore what files do I need to copy to my hard disk from the portable strorage device and where should I copy
them on my new pc in order for the restore batch file to work properly.

Also do I need to first create a new database again on the new pc or will the restore automatically do it for me.

Thanks in Advance

Peter
