Backing up ZFS snapshots with NetBackup

User_9KZAJMay 2 2011
Hello,

I've got a bunch of ZFS filesystems mounted under /zones/, and I'd like to be able to snapshot these and back them up with NetBackup. I currently have "/zones/" in the exclude_list, and the snapshot directories, "/zones/xx/xx/.zfs/snapshot/backup" in the include_list. However, NetBackup does not seem to be seeing these. Is there some trick to getting NetBackup to see and back up these directories? I'm guessing this is because the .zfs directories are "hidden," but I'm not sure.

I've seen the script on BigAdmin that creates and mounts clones, but I'd rather not do the extra step there if I can avoid it. Having a writable version duplicated out there makes me nervous.

This is with Sol10U9 and NBU 7.
