background color above r128g64b64 does not changes colour

I am using forms 6i(6.0.8.19.2) with Ms. windows XP.
I have created a color palette using RGB combination in ascending order for RGB values, in the event ON-MOUSE-CLICK I have written code which gets the color and change the color of a text item, it works fine with the RGB combination less than r128g64b64 but above this combination the value for the desired text item becomes Gray and remain gray for values above the stated combination. what may be the reason.
