B2B vs File/FTP

855382Apr 27 2011 — edited Apr 27 2011
We doing a B2B assignment which have 12 Different partner applications interacting with ERP-JD Edwards.

Majority of the Partners will send files to an agreed internal file server.
SOA(Mediator) Will pick it and will process it ,inbound or outbound,if file comes from Partners or Host Application(JD Edwards).

Some partners will send EDIFACT files too.
For those which would send EDIFACT files,we have decided to use B2B,as it's doing the translation with ease.

For those which are just having XML files,we r in doubt to use B2B for pooling or to use file/ftp adapter.

My Question is:
1. What-if if we decide to use File/FTP adapter for pooling in place of B2B for any of the partner.
How better or worse is this in terms of performance, comparing it with B2B usage?

2. What the best practise says of such scenario.
