We have a clustered evironment for SOA server with 2 members within the cluster. The Oracle B2B application is targeted to the cluster. When we tried to "rolling restart" the cluster members individually, we got a lots of exception within the soa logs saying that: "EMF not initialized yet". This error was noticed when member 1 was getting shutdown. After starting member 1, we tried shutting down member 2. The exact same errors occored again. All these errors together (while shutting down 1 and then shutting down 2) caused many B2B documents to be "rejected" by B2B application. Then we had to painfully resubmit each one from B2B console.
Why would this happen in a HA evironment, I do not understand. The version is 11.1.1.7 . We may need to rolling reboot the members in the future too. Hence it is important for us to understand why it occurred and what could be done to prevent this.
