AWT and Operating System

Hi All,

Will java AWT(Advanced WIndow Toolkit OR Abstract Window Toolkit) work on operating systems other than Windows like Linux and Solaris?

OR

Will AWT pick up the Look And Feel of the underlying operating system?

I am sure that Swings will work on all Operating Systems as they have their own look and feel.

Please help.
