Automatic Memory Management large databases

Oracle (strongly) recommends AMM for 12c databases.

We have number of databases which are sized to around 16 GB.

I am reading in several places that AMM is no good for > 4GB mem.

So is it a good idea to use AMM on our 16GB (aix based) databases ?

or should we size the SGA/PGA seperately ?
