Hi,
We're on 11gR2, RAC DB on both sides (primary and standby).
On the primary side I run a crontab RMAN job every evening, the SHOW ALL
shows:
~ CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO SHIPPED TO ALL STANDBY;
on the primary side.
On the standby side there's no backup job scheduled, SHOW ALL returns:
~ CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO APPLIED ON ALL STANDBY;
These options are described here:
Using RMAN to Back Up and Restore Files
It doesn't work (or do I still have something to specify that escaped me ?): this morning
on the primary side in my arch diskgroup I found no archives older than my backup
time yesterday evening, but on the standby machine my arch diskgroup is filled with
archived logs several days old.
How should they get deleted ? What mechanism is supposed to erase them ? Do
I have to schedule a job on the standby side in order to effectively get rid of these
archived logs ??
Thanks in advance for any help...
Regards,
Seb
