Auto save form

APEX 4.0

I have a requirement where I need to auto save my form.
This will help user when form is too long and lots of fields to be filled or due to some reasons session went off but still we want that details users filled in should not be lost and saved by this auto save feature.

I wonder it can be done by dynamic actions or jquery,ajax,javascript.

Has any one worked on this feature???
