Hello:
We've recently been moving away from RHEL and have successfully implemented several Oracle Enterprise Linux 7.x servers - LAMP and Oracle Database servers.
Now, we wish to properly manage these OEL servers with a centralized management tool, but we've never used one for the Linux environment (well, if you can count having a YUM "proxy" server).
We are asked to look into the following:
Puppet (Ubuntu centralized "management" server is running with Puppet cli stuff installed, but no EXPENSIVE GUI tool installed).
Chef - costly and not "user-friendly"
Ansible - less costly and supposedly "user-friendly"
Foreman - even less costly, if not free, and possibly "user-friendly"
Oracle Enterprise Manager?? - Does this product provide software packaging and distribution along with monitoring and patch updates/upgrades?? Best practices??
Is there documentation and/or online videos that can assist with implementing Oracle Enterprise Manager that you can provide?
I believe our license covers the use of Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Thank you!
