Assistance with Understanding ExtJS within an Oracle APEX App

Tony FatourosMay 8 2017 — edited Jun 26 2017

Hi,

From a thread I raised awhile back, about whether I required the ExtJS Framework for an Oracle APEX v5.1 application and me not having no experience with this ExtJS framework from Sencha at all as well as others in the team, I have now been given the task of removing all traces of this framework and keeping it all native APEX v5.1. The other reason is also ongoing maintenance and licence charges to use the ExtJS framework.

I now need to rewrite this application from v4.2 to v5.1 of APEX, but I am having difficulties understanding how this ExtJS framework integrates with the current Oracle APEX 4.2 application.

There seems to be alot of ExtJS forms with input fields together with ExtJS left sidebar navigation menus but they all seem to not be attached to any specific page in Oracle APEX.

FYI, my JavaScript and Dynamic Action skills are quite good but I would appreciate if people could please give me an insight as to what exactly I need to look at, as my initial point of reference, just so I can understand how it all links to Oracle APEX and the back-end database.

If there are any websites or blogs that can assist me, that would be much appreciated.

The aim here is to ensure that I remove all ExtJS functionality but still keep the same functionality and requirements as the original app but using v5.1.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Tony.
