ASM stopping rebalancing operation completely

user10148486Dec 17 2012 — edited Dec 19 2012
Hi All,
Last weekend I started a rebalancing operation on 1 of our our ASM diskgroups. Now I want to completely stop the rebalancing operation, so i've done some reading and noticed none of the articles I read spoke of completely killing a rebalance operation they only talked about setting power_limit to 0 and then when needed set it to a higher value again to restart rebalancing.

In our case we do not want to restart rebalancing at all and want to stop the operation completely. It's an ACFS filesystem which doesn't need and can't be be rebalanced by ASM.

So how are you able to kill the rebalancing operation completely and kill the rebalancing information stored in v$asm_operation.

Thanks for any help.
