ASM redundancy in Exadata

skurup2Mar 21 2011 — edited Mar 25 2011
Exadata users,
Anyone using ASM redundancy HIGH in your Exadata deployment.?
If you are using HIGH protection, any specific reason?

In our case, we have a FULL rack V2-2.
With normal redundancy, we could get 45TB usable space and with HIGH redundancy, we get around 30TB (I think).
We have a D/R Exadata that we are planning to maintain using Active DG.
ALso, planning FULL backup/week and incremental rest of the days to external TAPE.

I was wondering, any reason to go with HIGH redundancy since we loose around 15TB usable space.
