ASM path format

ChiwatelFeb 1 2017 — edited Feb 2 2017

Hello All,

We are using ASM (Oracle 11G R2) and I came across a path format I have never seen before and I am wondering what is its meaning.

Basically, I am used to see this :

NAME            PATH        GROUP_NUMBER

-------------------- ---------------------  ---------------------------

TOTO2         /dev/sdd1   1
TOTO1         /dev/sdc1   1

But on a database I asked to work on, I have the following PATH :

NAME            PATH        GROUP_NUMBER

-------------------- ---------------------  ---------------------------

TOTO2         ORCL:DATA01   1
TOTO1         ORCL:DATA02   1

What does ORCL:DATA01 mean ? how I can check the partitions behind  it ?

Many thanks !!!
