ASM - low cost layout

669653Nov 11 2008 — edited Nov 27 2008
Hello all,

I'm trying to find a suitable configuration of RAID Level and ASM for an OLTP database.
I've external redundancy that can be used in RAID 0,1 or 5 and a limited budget.

I would like to know if is recommendable to use the following configuration to have reliability at low cost:

RAID 1 LUN + ASM Stripping (the LUN stripped across the arrays)

I'm thinking in use this configuration for datafiles, redo and archive.

Is this a good layout or should I use RAID 5.

Regards
