ASM External redundancy and Striping

Hi all,

is it correct to say that ASM does striping even when using the external redundancy? We have a scenario where it is necessary to migrate Oracle RAC to a different storage, and we thought to do so by adding new disks (from the new storage) to the diskgroups, waiting for the rebalance and drop the old disks (old storage). The only doubt here, to proceed with this aproach, is if when we add a new ASM disk, Oracle will redistribute the extents evenly, between all the disks (old and new).

Is it correct to say that?
