ASM disks disappear after Linux reboot

Gharo-OracleMar 19 2009 — edited Apr 10 2009
Hi all,

I am trying to setup a demo of OEL 5.3 with Oracle 11g and ASM on a dedicated laptop.
It is not a production configuration, I surely agree, but I hope this is good enough for the demo.
My problem is with asm and asmlib.
I went through the steps of declaring asm disks (/etc/init.d/oracleasm createdisk ASM /dev/Vol....) and I can see the ASM disks via oracleasm listdisks.
Everything seems ok, until I restart the machine.
Then, I can no longer see the asm disks (listdisks after scandisks) returns nothing, but the creatdisk fails.

So, I suppose my disks were marked as an asm disk.
But then, I am wondering why I cannot see them in the list.

I surely went wrong somewhere, but I cannot find where.

Anyone to help ?

Thank you veru much in advance.

G.
