ASM DISK's not visible..

Hello all,
I really need your help.... This is quite critical.

I have ASM over Linux Red Hat 5.2 and I used to have 2 databases on the same disk group called DATA. Now there is problem when i try to startup the data base. It can't read control file form ASM instance.
I checked with listdisks command. it does not list disks.

[oracle@db1/]$ /etc/init.d/oracleasm listdisks
[oracle@db1 /]$

Please help me to solve this issue.
