We are creating three databases with ASM storage on 11.2.0.3.
Grid user: grid
Primary Group: oinstall
Secondary Group: asmdba, asmadmin, asmoper
Oracle1 User: oracle1
Primary Group: oinstall
Secondary Group: dba1, dboper1, asmdba
Oracle2 User: oracle2
Primary Group: oinstall
Secondary Group: dba2, dboper2, asmdba
Oracle1 User: oracle3
Primary Group: oinstall
Secondary Group: dba3, dboper3, asmdba
Voting Disk Group: VOTE_DG
Oracle1 Disk Group: ORCL1_DATA
Oracle2 Disk Group: ORCL2_DATA
Oracle3 Disk Group: ORCL3_DATA
I have read some notes indicating as follows:
Change the user and group ownership of devices to oracle:dba or grid:asmadmin (ASM role separation)
But, I have also seen the following note:
In general, the owner of the disk devices should be the same as the owner of the Oracle binary. The group ownership should be OSDBA of the ASM instance, which is defined at installation.
What should be the ASM disk privileges? Thanks in advance.
