ASM disk not visible to installer

T1DSoldierMay 5 2020 — edited May 7 2020

Hello All,

I most likely will be missing information needed so please let me know what you need to assist me.

Trying to do a new install of 19c asm on Solaris. When running the grid_setup.sh 19c Grid Installer, after selecting "configure oracle grid infrastructure for a standalone server" in step 1 of the installer, when I proceed to step 2, I see it showing "detecting system information" and then "discovering the disks" but when presented with the step 2 screen, no candidate disks are showing. I am working on a new Solaris server, the OS is showing disks in the location that the installer is defaulting to, "/dev/rdsk/*" … but no disks are showing in the list.

We then tried this a different way. Where we ran the Grid Installer, and installed the software only, and then proceeded to the grid_home/bin and ran the asmca utility, but again, when trying to get a list of candidate disks, Oracle is not finding any, the list is empty.

We tested 12c installer and its the same issue. The storage team just labeled them but still didnt help. Privs are wide open

Thanks

Dave
