ASM and ACFS (ODA)

2922227Jun 2 2016 — edited Jun 13 2016

YiHi Anyone,

Recently I was setting up the ODA, but some questions not very sure the answer, can you please guide me?

Understand ACFS file systems are created on top of each of the ASM Disk Groups. once created database all the file system will automatically created in ACFS(from 12.1.2.0 onware).

example:

/u02/app/oracle/oradata/datastore/.ACFS/snaps/<db_name>

1. is ACFS using ASM disk space? if not which disk space assign for ACFS?

2. if database system files all are stored in ACFS, is that mean user data to store in ACFS location as well is good practice or actually I should store user data in ASM ?

Thanks

Yip
