ASM and ACFS

3186815Sep 20 2016 — edited Sep 21 2016

Hi all,

I have some questions regarding ACFS. From different documentations i understood that ACFS is a filesystem created from ASM disk space.

In this case, as for my situation i have 4 ASM disk groups named, DATA, RECO, REDO and FLASH, and 4 ACFS mounted filesystems.

The first question is if i understood right and ACFS is a volume created from ASM. So if i have 100 GB on ASM disk group and i create a 40GB ACFS volume, i will remain with 60GB on ASM.

Ok, if this is right my next question is when checking with ASMCMD utilitary the available disk space on all disk groups , by using LSDG command, this will show all space of ASM(meaning 60gb on ASM + 40 GB on ACFS= TOTAL 100GB), or will show only the available space on ASM( of 60gb) ?

In particular my oracle database is saving data on ACFS and i don't understand why ASM space is going full.

Thank you for the support
