AS Install - Application Server is already installed in this Oracle Home??

Hi,
I am attempting to install AS via tha SOA suite download. I open the installer, use the basic install option, and click "install". Before the install starts, I am getting the message:

"Install has detected that Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 is already installed in this Oracle Home. Please choose another Oracle Home"

I had app server installed previously, although I unistalled it. Could it be that there are some remaining files which are preventing me from re-installing?

I have checked the registry for any mention of app server, and can find none.
I have tryed using many different directories, but get the same error each time. I could be something simple that im missing, but im out of ideas!

any help appreciated!
