archivelog turn off for a table???

Can you turn off archivelogging against a table while running in archivelog mode?
Version 10g 10.1.0.3 Linux
I have to make changes to millions of rows of data on a table and want to ensure that I do not take away resources from the production system while I make my delete's and inserts.

Any advice?
