Archive logs filling up fast

423510Jul 29 2004 — edited Aug 24 2005
Hi there

As I have been working with OWB, and testing stuff a lot, my archive logs seems to be booming. Actually, to the state where I am running out of space. The DBA is looking "angrily" at me, and telling me to stop hammering the db :))

I have a four-step model, inspired by Ralph Kimball:

Data sources (Lotus Notes / Oracle)
== Complete data transfer ==>
DWH Raw import tables
== Differential data transfer/transformation ==>
Data staging table
== Loading of data into data marts ==>
DWH

Now, it's the "Complete data transfer", with millions of records that I suspect is generating all these transfers. Could there be a hint, that I could add to the mapping, in order to avoid all this logging?

I'm new to Oracle, so I'm almost completely ignorant of all this "hint business" :)

Any help is very welcome - thanks in advance!

Yours

Kim
