Hello all,

so i tried to setup physical standby database in my local vm.

I have apparently completed the configuration but i'm facing some issue which i'm unable to understand.

primary database: ORA12C

standby database : ORASTD

Primary database:-

SYS@ORA12C> archive log list;

Oldest online log sequence     14

Next log sequence to archive   16

Current log sequence           16

SYS@ORA12C> select name, database_role, controlfile_type from v$database;

NAME      DATABASE_ROLE    CONTROL

--------- ---------------- -------

ORA12C    PRIMARY          CURRENT

SYS@ORA12C> select sequence#, first_time, next_time, applied from v$archived_log;

In standby database:-

select sequence#, first_time, next_time, applied from v$archived_log;

SEQUENCE# FIRST_TIM NEXT_TIME APPLIED

---------- --------- --------- ---------

         4 15-APR-15 16-APR-15 YES

SQL>  select name, database_role, controlfile_type from v$database;

NAME      DATABASE_ROLE    CONTROL

--------- ---------------- -------

ORA12C    PHYSICAL STANDBY STANDBY

SQL>  archive log list;

Database log mode              Archive Mode

Automatic archival             Enabled

Archive destination            /u01/app/oracle/fast_recovery_area

Oldest online log sequence     0

Next log sequence to archive   0

Current log sequence           0

Now here my question is why is the current log sequence is showing 0. I tested datas from

primary database to standby getting replicated.I'm totally out of clue.

I did try to find it on google but nothing could have helped me so far.

Any kind of help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Soumya
