Arabic characters are printing in reverse during PDF conversion

I am using JFO which uses FOP for converting RTF documents into Acrobat PDF. However for Arabic printing there is a strange issue i am facing. The arabic characters saved in the RTF are getting reversed after getting converted to PDF.

Just to illustrate by example, 'Formula One' in Arabic stored in RTF gets printed as 'enO alumroF' in the PDF (exactly reversed).

Can some throw some light as to what can be tried to solve this pls. Thanks
